Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber Attends Singapore Chamber of Commerce Sichuan Lunar New Year Gathering

On January 27, 2024, Mr. Xie Bin, Director of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) East China Service Center (Zhejiang), and his delegation attended the Lunar New Year Gathering hosted by the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (“SingCham”) Sichuan . The event was organized by the SingCham, co-hosted by Singapore Global Network and the National University of Singapore. Professionals and outstanding talents from various industries in China and Singapore gathered at this event, celebrating the Chinese New Year together with great enthusiasm and festivity.

During the event, Mr. Chen Zhien, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore in Chengdu, and Ms. Lin Xiuling, President of the Sichuan Office of the SingCham Sichuan, delivered enthusiastic speeches, extending warm Chinese New Year wishes to all present. Consul General Chen emphasized the upcoming mutual visa exemption between China and Singapore, anticipating improved communication and exchanges between the two countries. President Lin introduced the establishment of the SingCham Sichuan since June 15, 2023, boasting over 100 high-quality members. She pledged that SingCham Sichuan would continue to leverage the advantages of the Chamber, coordinate resources, and provide a quality platform for its members.

Throughout the event, Xie Bin, Director of the APIAC East China Service Center engaged in friendly discussions with Consul General Chen and President Lin. Mr. Xie introduced the latest developments of the APIAC and extended a sincere invitation to Consul General Chen to visit to APIAC Southwest Service Center (Sichuan). Consul General Chen expressed his willingness to visit and expressed concern about the changing number of cases choosing Singapore as the seat of arbitration among the cases handled by the APIAC.

Mr. Xie expressed sincere gratitude to President Lin for inviting APIAC to participate in the event and commended the excellent arrangements of the event.

The Lunar New Year Gathering provided a high-quality platform for communication and cooperation, setting a positive start for the new year. APIAC will continue to dedicate itself to providing professional and efficient arbitration services for the resolution of international commercial disputes, contributing significantly to the development of international arbitration.
