The Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) was invited to participate in the "Hangzhou Help Enterprises to Invest in Southeast Asia Seminar —— Vietnam Malaysia Special Show"

On August 26, 2024, the "Hangzhou Help Enterprises to Invest in Southeast Asia Seminar —— Vietnam Malaysia Special Show" was successfully held at the Zhonghai Development Center in Binjiang District. This event was sponsored by the Hangzhou Chamber of International Commerce, jointly hosted by hiwinworld, Beijing Tiantai (Hangzhou) Law Firm, Frasers Property and the Malaysia-China Kuantan International Logistics Park, and co-sponsored by the Hangzhou Printed Circuit Association and Yingke Global (Hangzhou).

In attendance were esteemed guests including Mr. Liang Guohong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce for International Trade and Head of Membership Affairs of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hangzhou (CCPIT Hangzhou); Mr. Zhang Wenbo, Head of TianTai (Hangzhou) Law Firm and an arbitrator at APIAC; Ms. Zhu Jingyu, representative of the East China Service Center of APIAC (Zhejiang); Mr. Liu Xiaojun, General Manager of hiwinworld; Mr. Ye Bin, Director of the Frasers Property China Zone; Mr. Hao Le, Director of the Malaysia-China Kuantan International Logistics Park; and over twenty business representatives, all gathered to discuss pertinent topics related to "enterprises invest in Southeast Asia."

The conference was inaugurated with a warm welcome address from Mr. Liang Guohong, Deputy Secretary General of the Hangzhou Chamber of International Commerce and Head of Membership Affairs of the CCPIT Hangzhou. He emphasized the strategic significance of Southeast Asia as a key overseas expansion destination for Hangzhou enterprises, highlighting its rich market resources and promising prospects. Mr. Liang underscored that the exchange meeting served as a valuable platform for information exchange and collaboration, encouraging entrepreneurs to seize new opportunities in the Southeast Asian market.

Mr. Zhang Wenbo, Head of Beijing Tianchi JunTai (Hangzhou) Law Firm and an arbitrator at APIAC, delivered a presentation titled "How Chinese Enterprises Can Safeguard Their Overseas Investment By International Arbitration." He elaborated on the challenges faced by companies in resolving cross-border disputes and emphasized the advantages of arbitration, such as efficiency, flexibility, and confidentiality, making it a preferred choice among many out-bound enterprises. Mr. Zhang highlighted how APIAC, with its reasonable fees, professional multilingual services, and independent arbitration centers established in various countries including the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Hong Kong S. A. R., could provide convenient legal arbitration services to parties involved. This strategic layout not only offered new avenues for dispute resolution to both domestic and foreign enterprises but also provided robust legal support to Chinese enterprises venturing overseas, effectively reducing their costs in risk management.

During the session, Mr. Ye Bin, Director of the Frasers Property, and Mr. Hao Le, Director of the Malaysia-China Kuantan International Logistics Park, provided detailed insights into the investment environment in Vietnam and Malaysia. Mr. Ye shared the business landscape and industrial ecology in Vietnam, painting a vivid picture of the investment opportunities there for attending enterprises. Mr. Hao, on the other hand, analyzed Malaysia's investment attractiveness from multiple perspectives, including bilateral agreements, policy incentives, and geographical advantages, providing valuable decision-making references for the participating businesses.

Furthermore, Mr. Liu Xiaojun, General Manager of hiwinworld, shared his extensive experience in assisting enterprises in going global, formulating a comprehensive framework for a full ecosystem strategy that provided one-stop solutions from strategic planning to on-site visits. His aim was to help enterprises gain a deeper understanding of target markets, laying a solid foundation for their overseas endeavors.

As the various agenda items progressed smoothly, the conference came to a successful conclusion. Attendees expressed that the event had deepened their understanding of the Southeast Asian market and accumulated valuable experiences and resources for enterprises venturing abroad.
