This article will provide a general description of the procedural steps in international commercial arbitration, while also sorting through the arbitration rules of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), and comparing and analyzing the differences in their arbitration processes and procedures.

The nationality of an arbitration award is the foundation for determining its legal effect, and directly impacts issues such as the effectiveness, annulment, recognition, and enforcement of the arbitration award. In international commercial arbitration, the seat of arbitration is often used as the standard to determine the nationality of the arbitration award.

The effectiveness of the arbitration agreement, enforceability of arbitration awards, and annulment or non-enforcement of arbitration awards are directly linked to the precise definition of arbitrable matters. This article will focus on the foundation, expansion, and specific areas of arbitrable scope in international commercial arbitration.

This article will explore the theme of the rise of international arbitration systems in ASEAN countries from the perspectives of cultural foundations, historical evolution, and arbitration legislation.
