On December 14 and 15, 2023, Asia-Pacific International Arbitration Center (APIAC) was invited to attend the year-end VIP banquet hosted by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China and the Christmas dinner hosted by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China. Mr. Tang Shiyi, Deputy Director of APIAC Southwest Service Center (Chongqing), led the APIAC delegation to both events.

On the morning of December 15, 2023, at 11 a.m., Chairman Ma Zhanjun and his delegation from the Asia-Pacific International Arbitration Center (APIAC) visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore in Chengdu. They received a warm welcome from Consul General Mr. Chen Zhi'en and Vice Consul Ms. Zheng Huiwen.

In today's society, with the continuous deepening of global economic interactions, arbitration, as an effective means of resolving commercial disputes, has gained widespread attention. In the arbitration process, the code of conduct and ethical standards of arbitrators play a crucial role, not only concerning the parties' rights but also influencing the orderly functioning of the entire commercial arbitration system. This article focuses on the importance and role of arbitrator codes of conduct and ethics in the commercial arbitration process.

A delegation led by Ma Zhanjun, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific International Arbitration Center (APIAC), visited the Chengdu office of TAHOTA Law Firm on December 7, 2023. The visit focused on the "Current Status and Development Trends of International Commercial Arbitration in Southeast Asia," and concurrently, APIAC appointed Mr. Cheng Shoutai, Managing Partner of TAHOTA Law Firm, as an arbitrator.

The New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, also known as the New York Convention, was signed in New York in 1958. It is an international treaty aimed at facilitating the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards in cross-border commercial arbitrations. China became a party to the New York Convention in 1987. To date, 172 countries have joined the convention, making it one of the most widely accepted treaties in international commercial law.

On the morning of November 20, 2023, at 10:30 AM, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) officially launched its arbitration center in Hong Kong with a grand unveiling ceremony held at the Centenary Room 1, G/F Conference Hall of the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel. This event marks the formal establishment of the APIAC Hong Kong Arbitration Center. The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests from government, legal, business sectors, and the international arbitration community.

On November 18–19, 2023, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), in collaboration with Lex Magister, conducted a training and exchange seminar on "Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration" at the Faculty of Law, University of Hong Kong.

The Study of International Arbitration is founded by Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) and Macao Institute of International Arbitration (ISSN: 2958-1990). The second issue of The Study of International Arbitration focuses on international arbitration, aiming to advance the academic field and seeks by exploring various aspects of international arbitration. In order to enrich the journal's content and elevate the standards of the journal, a call for papers is now open.

On the morning of November 13, 2023, at 10 a.m., the chairman of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), Ma Zhanjun, and his delegation visited the Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia (BANI), where they were warmly received by the head of the Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia.

From October 18 to 20, 2023, The High-End Training Conference on Theory and Practice of International Commercial Arbitration sponsored by the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber(Hereafter referred to as APIAC) was successfully held in Singapore. Chairman Ma Zhanjun attended and delivered a speech, he said that the APIAC focused on commercial disputes in Southeast Asia and China, and the training session aimed at enhancing trainees' professional knowledge and skills of international commercial arbitration, and cultivating new forces in the field of international commercial arbitration in the Asia- Pacific region.

On the morning of October 18, 2023, at 9:00 AM Beijing time, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber was officially inaugurated. On the 2nd floor of the Construction House at the Singapore Contractors Association Hall, the event brought together approximately 50 individuals, including Professor Ma Zhanjun, Chairman of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, Professor Zheng Jingyu, Chairman of Asia Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, William Leung, Member of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, Mr. Fang Jianguo, Founder President of the International Business Alliance, Mr. Gong Xuanmin, Director of Nanping International Arbitration Court, Mr. Cheng Shoutai, Chief Partner of Tahota Law Firm, international arbitration expert Mr. Ge Huangbin, as well as entrepreneurs from the Asia-Pacific region, lawyers engaged in international legal business, and other distinguished guests. They all gathered for the Third Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference and the inauguration ceremony of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber.

On the morning of October 11, 2023, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), Beihai Court of International Arbitration , and the Shapingba District Government of Chongqing jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the government conference hall. Shapingba District Mayor Xiao Qinghua, Deputy District Mayor and member of the Standing Committee of the District Hu Yi, Chairman of the APIAC Ma Zhanjun, and General Manager of the Chong Qing International Logistics Hub Park, Huang Pu attended the event. Taking advantage of this occasion, the Southwest Service Center of APIAC officially established its presence in Huangjinwan·Zhigu Valley.

On Sept 24, 2023, the last course of 2023 International Commercial Arbitration Training sponsored by Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), Beihai Court of International Arbitration, Beihai Asia International Arbitration Center (BAIAC), and the Macao Institute of International Arbitration, and co-organized by the Centre for Commercial Arbitration Studies of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, was a success in Shanghai, China.

The Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), approved by the Ministry of Law of Singapore and registered in Singapore, is a modern institution that utilizes digitalization and artificial intelligence technologies. Relying on Singapore's position as the Asia-Pacific regional center for international commercial dispute resolution, APIAC innovatively provides efficient, fair, economical, and convenient solutions to disputes arising from the Belt and Road Initiative, Asian trade cooperation, and various investments between China and ASEAN countries.

On Sept 16, 2023, the 2023 International Commercial Arbitration Training in Chengdu, sponsered by Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC), Beihai Court of International Arbitration, Beihai Asia International Arbitration Center (BAIAC), and the Macao Institute of International Arbitration, and co-organized by the Center for Commercial Arbitration Studies of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law, was a success.
