Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber Inaugurated in Singapore

On the morning of October 18, 2023, at 9:00 AM Beijing time, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber was officially inaugurated. On the 2nd floor of the Construction House at the Singapore Contractors Association Hall, the event brought together approximately 50 individuals, including Professor Ma Zhanjun, Chairman of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, Professor Zheng Jingyu, Chairman of Asia Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, William Leung, Member of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, Mr. Fang Jianguo, Founder President of the International Business Alliance, Mr. Gong Xuanmin, Director of Nanping International Arbitration Court, Mr. Cheng Shoutai, Chief Partner of Tahota Law Firm, international arbitration expert Mr. Ge Huangbin, as well as entrepreneurs from the Asia-Pacific region, lawyers engaged in international legal business, and other distinguished guests. They all gathered for the Third Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference and the inauguration ceremony of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber.

Professor Zheng Jingyu, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Chinese Entrepreneurs Association, spoke at the conference, sharing the origins and development of the association and offering best wishes for the success of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber's inaugural event. Chairman Zheng led all the participants in singing the song "Chinese People", creating a lively and spirited atmosphere at the conference.

In his address, Chairman Ma Zhanjun of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber emphasized that the establishment of the Chamber aims to create a new platform for international arbitration cooperation, leveraging the advantages of efficient and respectful dispute resolution, the autonomy of parties, and extraterritorial enforcement. Chairman Ma pledged that the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber would focus on the intrinsic needs of disputing parties and arbitration professionals, providing the most efficient and direct arbitration processes, charging reasonable fees, and offering high-quality services.

Mr. Fang Jianguo, Founder President of the International Business Alliance, stated that the International Business Alliance plays a crucial role in connecting business activities between Chinese enterprises and those from other countries, consolidating the strength of Asia-Pacific Chinese entrepreneurs, exploring business opportunities, and charting new horizons in the business world.

As a hub for international commercial dispute resolution, Singapore offers a reliable path for resolving various investment disputes arising from the Belt and Road Initiatives, Asian trade cooperation, and investments between China and ASEAN nations. The Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, leveraging Singapore's existing status as an international arbitration and mediation center, will play a pivotal role in promoting dispute resolution in the Asia-Pacific region and even globally.

Furthermore, the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber has established two branch institutions in Hong Kong and the Southwest region, namely the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber Hong Kong Arbitration Center and the Southwest Service Center, with the aim of advancing international commercial arbitration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Marco Greater Bay Area and the Southwest region. The establishment of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber will further enhance cooperation and exchange with domestic and international arbitration institutions, innovate service mechanisms, broaden the scope of services, enhance service capabilities, strive to improve arbitration professionalism and internationalization, and make a positive contribution to serving the nation's comprehensive opening and development strategy.
