Courtesy Visit by the Chief Executive Officer of ICADRP to APIAC (Malaysia)

On 24 October 2024, APIAC (Malaysia) warmly welcomed Dr. Nudrat E. Piracha, the Chief Executive Officer of the International Centre for Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Prevention (ICADRP), Partner at the renowned Pakistani law firm Samdani Qureshi Aqlaal. Chief Representative of APIAC (Malaysia), Ms. Selena Deng and Deputy Secretary-General of APIAC (Malaysia), Ms. Yong Shun Yee, conducted the reception.

During the discussion, Dr. Nudrat provided an in-depth analysis on the trends of cross-border trade and investment, and the current state of dispute resolution in Asia, delved into the key challenges faced by Asian parties involved in international arbitration and the cultural factors underlying. She pointed out the role of arbitration institutions in ensuring and enhancing the practicality of arbitration mechanism having regard to the diversity of culture and legal system among different countries in Asia.

Both parties acknowledged the vibrant future for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services in Asia. ADR well accommodates the diversification of Asia's economic structure and the complexity of its industrial systems. This visit has enhanced the mutual understanding between both parties, in this regard, continuing communication and correspondence will be maintained.
