Mr. Ma Zhanjun, President of APIAC, invited to attend the first Global Industrial Development and Security Forum
The first Global Industrial Development and Security Forum, themed "New Landscape of Global Development and New Challenges of International Security" was grandly held in Shenzhen on September 19, 2024. The forum, hosted by Renmin University of China (RUC) and organized by the Chenghai Institute of Global Development and Security, RUC, along with the Institute of Advanced Social Sciences (Shenzhen), the School of International Relations, and the School of Global and Area Studies, also featured the unveiling ceremony of the Chenghai Institute of Global Development and Security (Shenzhen), RUC. Mr. Ma Zhanjun, President of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber(“APIAC”), was invited to attend the forum.
The forum focused on the core theme of "New Landscape of Global Development and New Challenges of International Security," featuring a research report launch and thematic discussions. In the morning session, Li Wei, Vice Dean of both the School of International Relations and the School of Global and Area Studies at RUC, officially released the report titled "Recouping the 'Lost Decade'? - A Systematic Assessment of the New US Industrial Strategy." The afternoon session featured in-depth discussions on four major themes: "International Relations and Major Power Diplomacy," "Industrial Development and Security," "Opportunities and Risks of Enterprise Internationalization," and "Sanctions and Economic Warfare." Renowned experts and scholars, including Huang Ping, Niu Junkai, Ju Hailong, Dai Yonghong, Gong Xiaofeng, Liang Haiming, Lu Qiyuan, Zhai Dongsheng, Hao Yufan, and Wan Xiaohong, shared their insights. The aim is to explore how to navigate the increasingly complex international political and economic landscape, seize development opportunities, mitigate risks, and address challenges.
President Ma Zhanjun delivered insightful remarks on how Chinese enterprises can leverage international arbitration to prevent and resolve legal risks associated with "going global." He analyzed the legal challenges faced by Chinese companies venturing overseas and emphasized the crucial role of international arbitration as an effective means of resolving cross-border commercial disputes and safeguarding their overseas interests. Furthermore, President Ma Zhanjun provided practical recommendations on crafting robust arbitration clauses, formulating effective arbitration strategies, and strengthening international cooperation, providing valuable guidance to Chinese enterprises.
The successful convening of this forum not only deepened the industry's understanding of global industrial development and security challenges, but also contributed to promoting international cooperation and enhancing the global governance system. As Chinese enterprises continue to expand their global footprint, international arbitration mechanisms will play an increasingly prominent role. APIAC will continue to leverage its professional expertise to provide high-quality arbitration services for Chinese enterprises, and support their stable development in overseas markets.
