Leaders from Yellow River Co., Ltd. Visit the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber Southwest Service Center (Chongqing) for Exchange and Discussion

On the morning of June 27, 2024, a delegation from Yellow River Co., Ltd., including Vice General Manager Zhang Mian, Chief Legal Counsel Gong Yuzhou, Manager Zhai Jingke, along with Dr. Yuan Dongdong from the Law School of Zhengzhou University, who is also a researcher at the Russian Law Research Center of Zhengzhou University, and the drafter of the Regulation on China (Henan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, visited the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) Southwest Service Center (Chongqing). They were warmly welcomed and engaged in discussions by Mr. Yin Guanjun, an arbitrator at the APIAC and a member of the Arbitrator Selection Committee, along with the team from the APIAC Southwest Service Center (Chongqing).

Yellow River Co., Ltd., established in 1955 was the first mechanized hydropower construction team approved by the State Council after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It holds multiple high-level qualifications, such as the national general contracting qualification for water conservancy and hydro power engineering construction. The company is a large state-owned comprehensive construction and operation enterprise integrating construction, survey and design, investment and financing, and trade services. Its international business began with foreign aid projects in the 1960s, and has since expanded to over 30 countries and regions across Asia, Africa, the Americas. With a total of 260 signed projects, the company has been involved in various fields, including hydropower, new energy, mining, construction, and transportation.

At the beginning of the meeting, the team from the APIAC Southwest Service Center (Chongqing) invited Vice General Manager Zhang Mian and his delegation to visit the exhibition hall and offices. The exhibition hall provided a detailed introduction to the APIAC’s development history,   organizational structure, and the functions of its various arbitration centers and service centers.

During the meeting, the team from the APIAC Southwest Service Center (Chongqing) warmly welcomed Vice General Manager Zhang Mian and his delegation. They emphasized that the APIAC is renowned for its efficiency, professionalism, independence and impartiality in resolving commercial disputes. It is dedicated to providing efficient, fair, cost-effective and convenient international arbitration services for various commercial disputes arising from Asian trade cooperation and between China and ASEAN countries.

This exchange has facilitated mutual understanding between the APIAC Southwest Service Center (Chongqing) and Yellow River Co., Ltd. Both parties agreed to actively promote various forms of future collaboration. They are committed to jointly exploring opportunities and addressing challenges under the “Belt and Road” Initiative, aiming to drive innovation and development in their respective fields, and to contribute to the overall prosperity and advancement of their industries.
